Harrison Appraisals, LLC is a regional personal property appraisal firm based in Westminster, Maryland.
The firm offers qualified appraisals of American, English and Continental antiques and fine art from the 17th century to present, as well as general residential contents.
Areas of expertise include antique and modern furniture, paintings, sculpture, sterling silver, glassware, porcelain, pottery, folk art, primitives, Pennsylvania German material culture, rare books and documents. The firm offers appraisals for purposes of insurance replacement and damage claim settlement, probate and estate division, divorce and equitable distribution, determination of federal estate and gift tax, non-cash charitable donations, casualty loss and pre-sale determination of value. The firm also provides expert witness testimony and litigation support.
Established in 1992, Harrison Appraisals serves a select clientele of museums, law firms, insurance companies, financial institutions and private collectors in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan region. The firm’s portfolio includes appraisals of important historical and cultural artifacts, the inherited possessions of a former U.S. president’s family, several museum collections, multi-million dollar Contemporary art collections and thousands of modest estates.
C. Robert Harrison, ISA AM | President & Senior Appraiser
Our principal, C. Robert Harrison, ISA AM is a USPAP compliant, IRS qualified and accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers with more than thirty years of appraisal experience. He holds a Master of Liberal Arts degree from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in American History from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Mr. Harrison studied American decorative arts at Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, Delaware and the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Andrea Thomas Harrison, APR | Appraisal Associate
Andrea Harrison is our estate specialist and the first line of contact at Harrison Appraisals. Her expertise includes probate and estate matters with specialties in antique textiles and Mid-Century Modern design. A graduate of the University of Maryland College Park, Ms. Harrison holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education and a BS degree in Journalism/Public Relations. She has also completed post-graduate studies at Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, Delaware and the Foundation for Appraisal Education. An accredited public relations professional with more than twenty four years of business experience in both the public and private sectors, Ms. Harrison brings an interdisciplinary approach to our firm’s practice.
